Abstract

This report quantifies certain economic impacts of Habitat for Humanity affiliates in Iowa in 2011. We used regional input-output analysis to estimate the total impacts to the state's economy that result from money directly spent and wages directly paid by Habitat for Humanity. The economic impacts presented in this report are a conservative estimate of Habitat's impacts because no single analysis can capture the benefits of all the services that Habitat provides. This report covers new home construction and rehabilitation of homes that were sold to low-income Iowa families.
